Tårnby Swimming Hall

A public swimming hall with a 25-metre pool, a teaching pool and a sauna, next to the town’s sports park. The pool hall is a single white room, lit from the side by a glass wall that faces the park.

Swimming halls are hard on buildings, so we chose few materials and made them tough: white concrete, glazed tiles and stainless steel. There is no paint anywhere in the wet areas.

The roof collects rainwater for the showers and for topping up the pools, which cuts the hall’s water use by about a third.
