Skagen Light Gallery

A small gallery for paintings of the northern light, in the dunes outside Skagen. The building is low and white like the houses of the town, and it sits down into the landscape so the line of the dunes stays unbroken.

The six rooms are lit from above through deep roof lights that face north. The light inside changes with the sky outside, the same sky the paintings were made under.

Visitors arrive along a path through the dune grass and see the building only at the last moment.
