Lindholm School

A school for 650 children from kindergarten class to ninth grade, at the edge of a new neighbourhood in Aarhus. The youngest have one storey and the oldest two, arranged around three courtyards that each belong to one age group.

A long covered walk ties the courtyards together. It is the school’s front door, its bicycle shelter and its wet-weather playground.

Every classroom has a window to a courtyard and a window to the fields. The ceilings are untreated spruce, which does more for the acoustics than any panel we could add.
