Søtorvet Housing
One hundred and twelve apartments around a planted courtyard, on a corner site by the lakes. The block completes a street of nineteenth-century brick buildings, so it takes their height, their cornice line and their brick: a pale yellow from a kiln in southern Jutland.
Every apartment runs through the building, with light from two sides. The windows are all the same size and are spaced by the rooms behind them, not by the facade.
The ground floor holds shops along the street and bicycle rooms along the courtyard, so there are no blank walls at street level.
